Hi, hope everyone is well.

I just wanted to see if anyone knows anything about the Ubuntu UK Management team? Has one been set up yet? Have any of the roles been filled? It would be great to have a centralised group to pool all other Ubuntu initiatives around the country.

Totally with you on that one and a number of us are looking at the logistics as well as potential projects. There is a UK coordinator , a webmaster and work is being carried out on the website and social media platforms. There is also a Board much like a board of directors that, i envisage, will become Elders. Things are moving at pace especially in South Africa, America, Ireland & Brazil, as well as other countries. It'll come together and at speed soon enough and then we can all contribute with the exceptions gifts we all have.

Michael Tellinger welcomed myself a couple of months ago as a UK coordinator. His email was also addressed to four others, with instructions to connect with one another and, well, get on with it.

In the email history, I saw he'd previously contacted the other co-ordinators with a spreadsheet detailing the core management team, instructing them to get in touch, as I recall.

Regrettably, my attempts to receive a response from the other co-ordinators have so far been unsuccessful, which isn't promising. During my attempts, I've asked for details of the core team but, obviously with no reply, I still don't have these either.

If and when I finally make contact with such a core management team I'll let you know. I'll be strongly encouraging them to "reveal themselves".

In the mean time, I'll continue to connect with people in Ubuntu and spread the word about Ubuntu. I hope and expect to see more concrete plans materialise in the coming weeks as these steps continue to be taken.

It's a shame more people haven't come forward to help you Lee. I've just joined as this resonates with me a great deal but it does need people participation to work (Like everything in life of course). In the case of Ubuntu, people coming together and making a contribution is what the whole idea is about.

I hope your colleagues get in touch soon. Kind regards to all here.

Well Lee sounds like a lot of team members have there hands full and we're only just out of that crazy Christmas period. I can't talk for anyone but do see a lot of things going on all across the World. I feel the UK side has been a tad slow but the foundations are to be placed down, obviously the UK website is being developed. MT is busy with the Brazil Project, among others. I know so many are itching to run with several ideas whilst others are just getting on with one project or another. Ubuntu UK will flourish i'm sure of that. Michael has built the platform now we must get all our heads together once the team is ready.

I don't know about anyone else but i get over 300 e-mails a day and i just cannot read them all, let alone reply. But like i said i am not a coordinator or part of the current management team. I'm here because it's going to make a difference and i'm spreading the word.

Hard to know how to help a "Quasimodo", of course, but there is also this discussion and links and comments and people and more, have we seen, and all added to / thought about?...

Hi everyone. I live in Portugal and Isle of Wight's where my family is (part of). Hoping I can contribute. Where can I get to see an overview of how Ubuntu is progressing in the UK overall as far as Community Projects and the Plan of Action? Thanks

I personally know the focus is on getting the Admin right, including a UK website, and a legal structure sorted sooner rather than later. Major developments are going on especially in Ireland. It's also putting the right structure(s) in place to make sure the UK can prosper, this includes being able to cope with 100's of e-mails, that will increase. I'm working on something that i need to test out first but, if that works, then we'll be able to follow in the footsteps of our Brothers and Sisters in Ireland, SA, Brazil and America. We're all connected and i do know the frustrations as the growing pains can literally be a pain. The thing is we need to be ready and organised otherwise we'll never cope with the influx. What a journey we're going to go on though and we are all on that same journey, it's exciting. I want it today in fact i want it yesterday but together we'll all make it happen together.

OK, cool. Thank you for all the information. Good to know movements are being made. I will keep checking in to see any progress and continue to spread the word.
